The first stage of the 10th Open Regional Championship “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) of the Chuvash Republic was held in Cheboksary.
The competitions were held at 18 venues of colleges and technical schools in Chuvashia, with a total of 591 competitors. The championship resulted in a total of 274 winners and runners-up in individual and team competences.
The competence R48 “Maintenance and repair of relay protection and automation equipment” was one of the competences included in the championship. The participants had to demonstrate skills in adjusting electromechanical relays (RT-40, RP-256), check a 110 kV current transformer, and carry out maintenance and adjustment of the BE2704 IED with the main transformer protection functions.
During the championship and competence training sessions with the college students, Andrey Glinkin, EKRA service engineer, acted as an independent expert.
Kirill Ageev took first place with 546 points, with Roman Goryunov and Grigory Gavrilov taking second and third places respectively. All winners study in different years at the Cheboksary Electromechanical College.
