Simulation and Calculation Center was established at EKRA in 2012.
The center‘s experts have extensive experience in simulation of electric power systems, testing operation algorithms of secondary equipment, and calculating settings for relay protection, remedial action scheme, power grid and mode automation devices.

EKRA Engineering Research Center
The Engineering Research Center was established in 2012 on the basis of the existing design department of EKRA. The main activity of EKRA Engineering Research Center is the development of integrated design solutions for power generation facilities.
A key advantage of EKRA Engineering Research Center is its team of highly-qualified and experienced professionals who are capable of carrying out design work without outsourcing and who have extensive knowledge of both project design and development.

Project design and engineering of nuclear installations in terms of systems and elements, monitoring and control, and reliable power supply for safety classes two and three according to NP-001-15:

EKRA Engineering Research Center has experience in developing documentation using digital substation technology both for reconstruction and new construction.
The introduction of the innovative DSS technology is the next stage in developing the power industry, which consists of organizational and technical measures aimed at optimizing and improving the efficiency of power resource distribution and control production processes by using a new power facility management technology created in compliance with international standard requirements.
The implementation of the Russian Digital Substation project has both technical and economic benefits. Besides, the DSS technology contributes to the development of domestic production and science, and improves the energy security of Russia.

These works include:
- setting and configuring of equipment according to technical documentation;
- equipment serviceability check within the cabinet up to terminal clamps;
- equipment functionality check.
This includes equipment set-up and testing, as well as participation in final tests to confirm the correct functioning of equipment during operation start-up.
Maintenance (preventive inspection and preventive recovery) is a set of scheduled maintenance works on EKRA equipment.
The work is carried out by qualified technicians on site, with a relevant extension of the warranty period for equipment.
EKRA Training Center
is one of the most technologically advanced and equipped venues for training. Theoretical and practical classes are taught by highly-qualified lecturers (including PhDs, associate professors, and masters) who have many years of experience in the power sector.
