VII International Research and Practice Conference “Relay Protection and Automation of Electric Power Systems of Russia” was held in Cheboksary from 18 to 21 April. The main topic was relay protection and automation of power systems today, under new conditions.
EKRA has traditionally been the general partner of the event.
The conference has been held in Cheboksary since 2012 aiming to demonstrate the potential of the electrical industry in the most important areas of power supply - secondary switching systems and automation of power facility control.
This year the conference was held for the seventh time, 516 companies took part in RELAVEXPO-2023, which is 1.7 times more than in 2021.
Along with the conference, there was an exhibition, where visitors could see both new products and well-known products of primary and secondary electrical equipment.
EKRA presented the most popular line of relay protection IEDs for all voltage classes, including PAC IEDs of 6-35 kV with support of IEC 61850 standard and a special adapter frame for ED2 devices, which allows customer to upgrade PAC based on Sepam 2000 with expired service life with minimum time and efforts consumption.
A prototype of a travelling wave fault locator was also presented. This device is designed for two-way and one-way fault location on 6-750 kV overhead and combined overhead and cable power lines with the length from 10 to 800 km.
Visitors showed great interest in the solutions to modernize the upper and middle levels of automatic process control systems of foreign manufacturers and automated measurement system with domestic software.
The company also presented LV equipment and systems:
- uninterruptible AC power supply system of SBPPT series, which is designed to provide uninterrupted power supply of critical consumers with AC power of industrial frequency with specified power quality;
- EKRA-PIM portable device for ground fault feeder detection in DC network;
- solutions for measurement and control of insulation resistance of AC network with insulated neutral point.
More than 3,000 specialists in development, design, production and operation of relay protection and automation, industrial automation and automatic process control systems from 77 regions of Russia, as well as from Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, visited the forum.
