ED7-MU belongs to the class of merging devices for analog sensors of primary processes at power facilities with a digital process bus SAMU (Stand-Alone Merging Unit).
The device converts analog values received from the secondary circuits of any current measuring transformers (CT) and voltage measuring transformers (VT) into digital form and sends the received digital signal readings (open command circuit, or SV [sampled values]) to the process bus (Ethernet network) as per IEC 61850-9-2.

Output signal 1PPS OUT (connector 1PPS OUT) can be used as a source of synchronizing signal for receivers of SV-flows in relay protection devices. 1PPS OUT signal is used to synchronize the external devices by means of the internal generator, or it repeats the synchronization signal from 1PPS IN or PTPv2
