Microprocessor devices ED2 are used in medium voltage distribution grids (1–66 kV) to arrange a comprehensive system of protections, automation, control, alarm, registration, disturbance recording and CB state monitoring.
Devices are designed based on the unified software and hardware platform, which reduces the production time, facilitates project design, operation and maintenance process.
Front panel
Graphic display supporting bay mimic diagram with indicated positions of the circuit-breaker, earth switch and withdrawable CB cart, as well as the RMS value of voltage and current, active, reactive and apparent power, network frequency, active and reactive energy
Buttons for electronic switches with assignable commands (protection enable/disable or other IED functionalities), which reduces the number of operational control switches on the relay compartment door
24 freely configurable three-color LEDs, which indicate information about tripping of protections and actuation of functions
Buttons for circuit-breaker control and a keyboard are located on the IED front panel
Ethernet for PC connection, USB for Flash drive connection
Rear view
Depending on the type of protected bay, IED can have 24/24 or 32/16 binary inputs/outpuits. With freely configurable binary inputs/outputs the devices can be easily adapted to the existing relay protection and automation diagrams at the facilities to be reconstructed
IED has up to 12 analog inputs in various configurations
Communication ports 2 × RS485, 2 × Ethernet (RJ45 or duplex LC) support the most common protocols for integration to automation system, which allows not only to monitor normal and failure modes of the power system, but also to control the switching devices via digital channels
Designed for their quick replacement with no need to dismantle the IED
Replaceable fuse for protection against faults in power supply system
