Static voltage inverter is a DC-to-AC converter used in power engineering, manufacturing and other industries where there is a need for an AC source.
For uninterrupted power supply systems, static voltage inverter is used with batteries and rectifirers that act as a DC source for the INS. To improve the reliability of the AC load power supply, the voltage inverter may include static and maintenance bypasses that connect the load to the backup AC network in the event of failure or absence of DC voltage at the INS input.
Front view
INS is a low-voltage complete device with the supporting metal structure made as a one-sided maintenance cabinet. The equipment layout is made inside the cabinet, while alarm equipment and the operation panel are installed outside on the front door.
For measurement of analog parameters, it is possible to set measuring transducers that provide conversion of secondary analog values into digital or unified analog signals from 4 to 20 mA.
For high powers, the matching transformer is installed next to the converter cabinet. The external transformer is enclosed.
Converter cabinet provides air, natural or forced cooling of the elements of the power circuit of the converter. Forced air cooling reduces wear of fans by temperature control.
Operation panel
Control system, depending on the version of converter, performs the following functions:
- monitoring state of DC power network
- monitoring state of AC power network
- monitoring converter temperature
- indication of operation modes
- communication with PCS or test computer
- input and output of binary signals from external devices
- receiving commands from operating personnel and specifying settings
- measurement and indication of currents and voltages of converter
- control of converter voltage and current
- monitoring state of protection and switching equipment
- self-diagnostics
